Conveniently located at 1701 Government Street within St. John's Episcopal Church, near the cannon in the Loop area. (The cannon points at us!) Our office is on the left side of the property, opposite the church building. Access and parking are available via Breamwood Avenue.
We can bill Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, All Kids, United Health Care, Medicaid, Cigna, Aetna, Viva Health, and Humana. Coming January 2024, we will also accept Medicare. If you don't see your specific insurance listed, please contact us anyway, we will be happy to see you while we work on that approval. We can also make arrangements through some Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). If you do not have insurance, we will work out a fee you can afford.
It is our mission to find a way to serve anyone who needs us. We have seen children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. We serve and affirm all LGBTQ+. There are very few types of clients Dr. Dorsey hasn't seen in her 35 years as a therapist. (She is especially good with angry children/teens.) Even though we are housed in an Episcopal Church and believe that all aspects of a person need to be addressed in therapy - mind, body, spirit, emotion - Tree of Life Counseling is open to any and all faiths/traditions and embraces the diversity that makes our community vibrant and strong. You don't need to be Episcopalian, or any religion at all, to receive services from our office.
